Overview
The Ridgefield Basketball Association is proud to offer two types of college scholarships to graduating RHS Seniors each spring: the RBA Leadership Award and the Billy Fuess Memorial Scholarship. For 2026, the funding will be $2,000 for each award.
These one-time scholarships do not take financial need into consideration and all information submitted with your award application will be treated confidentially. Our RBA scholarship recipients will be announced during Senior Awards Night on Wednesday, June 3rd.
Award Option 1: RBA Leadership Award
This award is typically given to four graduating RHS Seniors who have demonstrated (a) strong leadership skills, (b) a commitment of support toward and participation in our local basketball community, and (c) academic achievement. The RBA offers our Leadership Award based on the following weighted criteria:
Leadership (45%)
RBA Support & Participation (45%)
Academics (10%)
Award Option 2: Billy Fuess Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2013, this scholarship is granted to one graduating RHS senior who has demonstrated leadership of and love for our RBA House basketball league. This award honors Billy Fuess by supporting a student who shares his passion for recreational sports, mentoring younger players, and enjoying diverse extracurricular activities.

You are welcome to include two letters of reference (excluding RBA Board members) in support of your application.
