Code of Conduct
The goal of the RBA is to provide a quality basketball experience for all players; one that stresses the mechanics of the game, good sportsmanship, value of team play and love of the game.
Parents/Spectators Code of Conduct
Good Sportsmanship:
I will remember that children participate in athletics to have fun and that the game is for the youth and not adults.
I will be a positive role model by supporting and respecting the players, coaches, spectators and referees at every game and practice.
I will respect the rules of the game and never taunt, berate nor argue with the coaches and referees. If I have concerns, I will respectfully address them by reporting them to the RBA Board of Directors.
I will, under no circumstances, communicate with any officials before, during, or after the competition. Cheer for your team and enjoy the game.
I understand our family's commitment by participating in the RBA. I will have my child arrive on time for all games and practices to the best of my ability and let the coach know in advance if my child will be absent or arriving late.
Skill Development:
I will remember that children participate in athletics to have fun and that the game is for the youth and not adults.
Coaches Code of Conduct
Good Sportsmanship:

I will be fair, honest and consistent in my coaching philosophies and practices based on the objectives of my division.
I will communicate clearly with parents my goals for the team and expectations of their role and behavior.
I will teach players how to handle competition, winning and losing.
Skill Development:
I will stress the mechanics of the game, good sportsmanship, value of team play and love of the game.
I will have organized practices that target teaching of specific skills and rules of the game for all players.
I will communicate clearly with parents my goals for the team and expectations of their role and behavior.
I will teach players how to handle competition, winning and losing.
Rather than stretching the rules to provide an edge to my team, I will be diligent in upholding the spirit of the rules, which are in place to ensure fair play and to avoid undue or unfair advantage to one of the teams.
The positions of coach and high school captain are regarded by the RBA as role model positions of leadership, honor and trust. Those who hold these positions are expected to conduct themselves, both within and outside the RBA, in a manner consistent with these positions. The RBA may discipline any coach or captain when, in its sole discretion, the RBA believes that the individual has not acted in a manner consistent with the ideals of the organization. Such discipline may include suspension, termination, or expulsion from the position or the league.
As an organization that serves the youth of the community, the RBA may take action that it believes, in its sole discretion, is necessary to ensure the health, saftey, and physical and moral welfare of the children it primarily serves.
